Your first day of wine tasting will start with breakfast and an intimate ‘Vineyard-Side Chat’ with Stony Hill’s winemaker, Jaimee Motley. Jaimee will share her wine background, which ranges from fine wine vineyards to fine dining restaurants, and her approach to making age-worthy wine for this legendary winery. As the first post-prohibition winery in Napa Valley, Stony Hill has been making premium wine since the early 50s. Jaimee will guide you through the estate’s unique history and a tasting featuring their historical white grape varieties: Chardonnay, Riesling, and Gewurztraminer.
Exploring Napa Cabernet featuring Brittany Sherwood, Director of Winemaking at Heitz Cellars
Up next, lunch and tasting at the historic Heitz Cellars. You will spend the afternoon learning why Heitz is the poster child for classic Napa Cabernet Sauvignon and how it has shaped the history of Napa Cabernet. Then, Heitz’s winemaker, Brittany Sherwood, will guide you through a tasting featuring some of the award-winning Cabs from different vineyards in Napa Valley. You will also enjoy a gourmet box lunch from Chef Thomas Keller’s restaurant Ad Hoc.
The Best of Both Worlds Tasting featuring Laura Oskwarek, Winemaker at Silver Oak & Vanessa Hart, Associate Winemaker at Twomey
Our last stop on the first day will feature the Silver Oak Family. One family, two iconic brands: Silver Oak & Twomey. You will enjoy a tasting led by the incredible team of women winemakers, Laura Oskwarek at Silver Oak and Vanessa Hart at Twomey. The tasting will feature Silver Oak’s classic Cabernet Sauvignon and Twomey’s Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, and Merlot.
